If you're company focusses on computers, the Internet or social media, an Apprenticeship within the IT framework could be for you… but which position do you want an apprentice in? Within this industry there are lots of different job roles available through which apprentices can gain an IT NVQ. Here are a few different IT Apprenticeships:
IT Technical Support: becoming an apprentice in this field will result in an IT NVQ whilst they work for an organising solving software issues. If you are a large company, this may well involve working on a help desk where you will be helping colleagues over the phone and via email. Assisting the team with fixing hardware will also be a duty for your apprentice.
IT Sales: An apprentice will be learning a lot about different software and hardware to be able to sell them to your clients whilst gaining an IT NVQ. Recommending certain programmes and computers, as well as offering customer service and helping clients will be a daily role. For this role, candidates are perfect if they have an interest in IT as well as having good communication and customer service skills.
IT Design: Alongside gaining an IT NVQ, apprentices will be designing infrastructure for software, applications or websites. To succeed in this role, candidates will need a creative flair as well as an interest in IT; some experience of online design would make the perfect candidates for you.
Database Apprentice: In this role, candidates will be helping to design and build databases and solve problems with existing databases as they work towards their IT NVQ. You will also need good customer service skills as they will be helping resolve user issues via the telephone, email or webinar for your company.
Social Digital Apprentice: Whilst gaining a Social Media and Digital Marketing NVQ, apprentices will be working within a business to market and promote the company using different social media platforms.
