They Say Patience Is A Virtue ...

Posted by GMFJ_Team on Oct 6, 2017 1:25:17 PM

They say patience is a virtue but with GetMyFirstJob you no longer have to wait for applications; once your vacancy has been added, you can start searching the TalentPortal database for suitable candidates.

'75% of all vacancies filled via GMFJ are filled using this proactive approach'

In Marketing, we often find ourselves talking about segmentation, targeted audiences and the importance of sending the right message to the right individuals, but what about recruitment. Let’s call it the ‘Recruitment Funnel’, and your awareness stage is being overlooked – what about if the right candidates aren’t seeing the right vacancy, how do you approach this, or should we say them?

‘Using GetMyFirstJob’s TalentPortal we were able to sift through the system for candidates and target them Specifically. As a result, we had 23 applications in just 10 days’ CIPP (The Chartered institute of Payroll Professionals)

This is where our proactive search is ahead of other recruitment platforms in the industry, with the additional search function, you are able to target your search by a specific criteria to build your perfect shortlist.

The ability to search by invaluable criteria – (such as qualification levels, location, and specifically expressed interests) enables you to decide if the suitability for your vacancy, and target your candidate audience without having to sift through a long list of applications.

Being proactive with the ability to search CV's rather than reactive gives you a more targeted approach and bespoke segmentation in your recruitment process. No other platform gives you access to candidate detailed profiles to proactively search on and pre-screen.

Looking at a variety of case studies we have found that by using the pro-active search, providers will get more fills per head, within a shorted time frame.

“The TalentPortal allows us to advertise a vacancy within the same day of receiving it and has significantly reduced our fill time from 8-10 weeks to now 4-5 weeks. For our clients, this is a much improved service and for the college it offers many benefits both operationally and financially.” Truro and Penwith College

Customer Support Managers at GMFJ proactive search  Q&A

One of the main reasons people use our recruitment platform is because the TalentPortal offers proactive search, unlike any other. We discussed this with our very own Customer Support Managers at GMFJ, who highlight how current Talentportal users can get the most out of our recruitment platform:

1. What industry is proactive search aimed at?

Answer: Proactive search is aimed at any provider, college or employer who has Apprenticeship or Traineeship vacancies to fill across any industry.

2. What can I do with Pro-active search?

Answer: With proactive search you have the ability to access our database of over 300,000 candidates and search across a variety of criteria to find suitable candidates to contact for vacancies. If you have a vacancy, for example, for a Business and Administration role in Essex, you can search for individuals available with a finite distance of the postcode for that vacancy, you can search on qualification levels, and you can also proactively search for candidates based on what frameworks or standards they have specifically expressed an interest in. In this way, you can easily find lots of invaluable information out about candidates which enables you to decide if they are suitable for the vacancy you have.

3. How is pro-active search unique?

Answer: Proactive search is unique because no other platform gives you access to candidate profiles to proactively search on and so you can easily pre screen candidates to draw up shortlists for your vacancies.

4. What is the difference between pro-active search and standard recruitment?

Answer: Standard recruitment often relies on candidates submitting a cv, or hoping that people will see their vacancies on their website or on a job board. Our proactive search however, gives you the advantage of posting your vacancy on our website, linking it to a wide variety of social platforms like NAS, Reed and Facebook, and then enabling you to snapshot review individuals for suitability.

5. How easy is it to set up Pro-active search?

Answer: Proactive search is really easy to set up and use. You simply add a vacancy onto the Talent Portal, and then you can get straight on with your proactive searching!

'We are much happier now that we have the GetMyFirstJob TalentPortal, we are very lucky to be able to use proactive search and shortlist potential candidates’ – Jessica, Step Forward (The Challenge)

6. How quickly can I expect results with Pro-active search?

Answer: The results are instant! As soon as you select the criteria you would like to search on and then press the ‘My Search’ button, our system instantly generates a list of suitable candidates based on your criteria specified. It’s as easy as that!

7. I’m not that technical a person, how would I be supported If I was to sign up to something like this?

Answer: We have a full time team of Customer Support Managers here at Get My First Job, who are available to assist you from the moment you sign up. You can contact the team by phone, email and you can even use our free intercom feature, enabling you to get an instant response to answer any questions you have. We are always here to help!

8. Sometimes our funding can get cut quite dramatically with little notice, how easy is it to cancel my subscription if I needed to?

Answer: Of course whilst we hope you don’t cancel your subscription, we fully recognise there can be times when funding may be cut and if you need to cancel your subscription, all you need to do is give 30 days notice.

9. You work with customers who use the pro-active search on a daily basis, can you give us an example of a customer where this changed things for them and helped with their recruitment needs?

Answer: I had a customer come to me with a series of really hard to fill vacancies, in a geographical area that was historically hard to find candidates in. By using proactive search, the customer very quickly and easily found some great candidates to contact who were looking for apprenticeship roles, and they successfully filled their vacancies.

10. A lot of people who probably won’t have heard of Pro-active search and they use other methods for recruiting apprentices. Could you let us know the main differentiating features of pro-active search versus the other options out there?

Answer: There are other platforms out there that you can advertise your vacancies on, but you are solely relying on direct applications coming in. However, with GetMyFirstJob, not only will you receive lots of direct applications, you can actively search on our huge database to find candidates to contact about what vacancies you have, so in this way, you are able to be proactive rather than just reactive.

We are happy to show as our recruitment platform and demonstrate the functionality with a live demonstration from our team, just request a slot and we will be in touch.
